Oral thrush is an infection of the mucous membranes in the mouth by the yeast Candida Albicans. Oral thrush is also commonly referred to as Candidiasis. This condition commonly occurs in babies shortly after birth, because it is transmitted from mother to child during birth. Other people who may be affected by oral thrush are diabetics, people with densures, those taking certain medications (ie. antibiotics or corticosteroids), and people with immune deficiencies. Pregnant women and women on birth control may also be susceptible to oral thrush.

Am 31 yrs old married female. I have noticed that i have small lesions in my throat since more than 2 years and they are not painful. Whenever i swallow saliva i feel that something has got struck in my throat. At times i also get sore throat which will be really painful. Just today i noticed that my tonsils are cover with something white. Apart from this am also having pains in the joints of my leg and hand. Also very often i get vaginal yeast infection and this has been there for about a year. Treatment for vaginal candidiasis has proved of any help to me. . Am really getting worried as am facing so many problems. . .please suggest what i have to do . Regards, Geetha. |
